Stop Whining, Start Acting Advice:

Be Diligent:
Document, Document, Document, when speaking with anyone you must document your conversation. Notate the date and time you called. Get the Customer Service Reps (CSR) . name, extention, employee number, and call center (City and State). Now they may not give you all of that information exactly however you are entitled to a way of identifying them. If the CSR will not divulge a way to identify them ask for their Supervisor. Also, write down as much as possible regarding the conversation you had with the CSR. At the end of the conversation always clarify the conversation. Remember "To be idle is a short road to death and to be diligent is a way of life; foolish people are idle, wise people are diligent." Buddha

Be Involved:
No whiner's here. You are the only person who can change your destiny. Step up and make a difference. “Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.” Chinese Proverb

Be Knowledgeable:
Research, Research, Research. This guide is pointing you to the tools out there necessary to take action. We must know what we are talking about to be at all successful. "The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance -- it is the illusion of knowledge." Daniel Boorstin

Be Local:
Our states Attorney Generals are a great resource for consumer issues. If the Attorney General is not where you will get issues resolved they certainly can point you in the right direction. Why Attorney Generals? How do we contact our Attorney General? Other great sources of local information are your municipalities (City/County Offices and Community Organizations). "Think globally, act locally" Paul McCartney

Be Logical:
It is my experience that 95% of everything just takes some common sense. Remember "It is a thousand times better to have common sense without education then to have education without common sense" Robert Green Ingersoll

Be Progressive:
There is always someone higher up or a governing body who will help you to get things resolved. If you are dissatified go to the next higher up. Remember "Progress lies not in enhancing what is, but in advancing toward what will be." Kahlil Gibran

Be Reasonable:
We as consumers need to be reasonable. If you have 60,000 miles on your tires don't write Goodyear and ask them for a refund. Companies are in business to make money! Would you go to work everyday if you did not get a paycheck. Also, people make mistakes remember noone is perfect. Remember "The ultimate authority must always rest with the individual's own reason and critical analysis." Dalai Lama

Be Responsible:
We have a responsibility as consumers to make sure other consumers are not mist8reated or misinformed. If you are being mistreated or misinformed take those vendors, customer service reps, corporations, etc... to task. In my experience I get about 85% of everything resolved to everyone's satifaction. Hopefully if you resolve your issue it will also help the next consumer not have the same issue. Remember "To be a man is, precisely, to be responsible." Antoine de Saint-Exupery
